Combine cornmeal (1 cup) and buttermilk (315ml or 1 1/3 cups) in a large bowl and let sit for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375°F. Spray an 8x8-inch baking pan or a 12-cup muffin pan and set aside.
Mix into cornmeal mixture the flour (140g or 1 cup), sugar (50g or 1/4 cup), baking powder (2 tsp), baking soda (1/2 tsp), and salt (1/2 tsp). Stir in eggs (2) and melted butter(60g or 1/4 cup). Mix until thoroughly combined.
Transfer to the prepared pan and bake until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 25 – 30 minutes for the baking pan or 15 - 20 minutes for the muffin pan. Let cool slightly before serving.
